Due to high demand, we are looking to employ a number of security officers and related roles to work at University and College campuses around the UK.
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
To ensure a safe, secure, welcoming environment for staff, students and campus visitors and to provide a courteous and efficient front-of-house service during college/ university hours. The role combines the management of campus security across the grounds, including monitoring of student activity, with the need for a customer service standard for everyone on site and the neighbouring community.
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide a welcoming, courteous and efficient reception service as required for students, visitors and contractors.

Implement booking-in arrangements for all visitors and contractors in accordance with agreed procedures.

Regularly undertake campus grounds patrols to monitor and manage security

Monitor and supervise student behaviour across the campus and the immediate surrounding area, promoting a positive college ethos at all times.

Take immediate suitable action when incidents of misbehaviour occur on site.

Undertake car park patrols to manage and monitor parking to ensure compliance with policies and provide a safe environment

Carry out a range of administrative tasks to support the department.

Undertake security duties to ensure the campus is opened and closed at agreed times, including locking and unlocking premises, setting and un- setting alarms, taking responsibility for keys and participating in a key-holder rota.

Implement emergency procedures to ensure safe evacuation of the campus in case of fire or other emergency.

Manage access through the vehicle barriers for deliveries, visitors, collections drop offs / pickups etc.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Participate actively and flexibly in a range of activities, such as duty rotas, enrolment and marketing events and staff and student activities.

Participate in training and team development activities, to develop and update skills and knowledge.

All employees have a general duty in law to take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and of other persons who may be affected by their acts or omissions.

Understand and be committed to the Health and Safety Policy statement and the safety priorities and be aware of his/her contribution to such priorities.

Be aware of and comply with the health and safety legislation and other College requirements that are relevant to his/her post.

Demonstrate commitment and enthusiasm to promote the principle of equality and diversity in employment and service delivery.

Be familiar with and promote the Equality and Diversity Policy

Be familiar with Safeguarding requirements as outlined in the Safeguarding Policy and comply with its requirements to safeguard and protect the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.

Undertake such additional duties or projects as the Principal or line manager may determine from time to time, after consultation with the post-holder.
We are recruiting for many roles, from dorm & campus patrollers to highly experienced security managers. Pay varies on position applied for and experience. Hours, shifts, holidays, benefits and overtime opportunities can all be discussed.
